Chamber names new President & CEO
The Coppell Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors on Tuesday unanimously approved the hire of Ellie Braxton-Leveen as the new President & CEO of the Chamber.
“If you want to know what makes an organization successful, go straight to the source. I have learned what works best by engaging directly with the experts,” said Braxton-Leveen in a statement. “I’m excited to join the Coppell Chamber of Commerce and eager to work with the Board of Directors in helping to fulfill their goal of leading our community in sustainable economic growth, advocate a pro-business climate and execute the community’s vision.”
Braxton-Leveen began her chamber of commerce career in 1995, as a Retention Specialist with the Modesto, California Chamber of Commerce. From there, she became the Director of Membership and Marketing for the Richardson Chamber of Commerce in Richardson, Texas. She then spent 10 years as the vice president of one of the largest, most successful chamber of commerce membership development companies in the world.
Braxton-Leveen founded the company EB Best Practices in January 2017, which served as an information and training resource for chambers of commerce as well as other non-profit organizational staff, board of directors and volunteers. EB Best Practices is based on Braxton-Leveen’s accumulation of knowledge over the past 28 years from more than 300 chambers of commerce, plus 23 pharmacy associations, technology councils, economic development associations, the YMCA, university development and alumni associations, and other non-profit organizations.
She is also an instructor for the 2018 Western Association of Chamber Executives Academy, the Florida Association of Chamber Executives Conference and the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executive Conference.
Braxton-Leveen’s first day with the Chamber will be on Saturday, June 16. Please stop by Pioneer Day, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on June 16, at the Coppell Farmers Market, to meet Braxton-Leveen.
