Chamber CEO Shares Quarterly Report

Muhammed Ali once said, “It ain’t braggin’ if you can back it up!” The Coppell Chamber of Commerce has several unique aspects that set it apart from other chambers of commerce and occasionally, we like to brag about it.

Whether you are new to the Coppell Chamber of Commerce, or you’ve been a chamber member for a while, there are likely things that we have introduced over the past few years that will make a big difference for your business. Your chamber membership and investment in your business grow in value every year.

At the Coppell Chamber we stay actively engaged with the local community, fostering strong connections between businesses, city, schools and residents. We often organize events, programs, and workshops that bring together businesses, non-profits and community leadership to promote collaboration and support the local economy.

Recognizing the importance of small businesses, we work to provide them with resources, networking opportunities, and support services to help them grow. We recognize the significance of small businesses in the community’s growth and development.

We also boast a vast amount of large businesses in Coppell.  With more than 30 international corporate headquarters and fortune 500 companies located in Coppell, we are often called the headquarters of headquarters. The chamber advocates for all businesses, small or large, at the local, regional and state levels, representing their interests and concerns. We work closely with government officials and policymakers to promote a favorable business environment and address challenges faced by businesses every day.

Our partnership with the City of Coppell continues to be one of our major points of focus, assisting in the areas that deeply impact economic development in Coppell.  Our support in championing the fight against the Comptrollers Rule 3.334 (which will negatively impact our small business owners and our city), and our advocacy in promoting grants for businesses impacted by COVID-19 and the Beltline improvement construction has had a strong impact on our local businesses.

The Chamber recently contracted with the City of Coppell to implement and manage a community marketing campaign, Discover Coppell, which is designed to attract tourism traffic for our hotels and visitors into Coppell to shop, eat and play. Results have been resounding thus far and we are excited to see how our campaign grows in the future.

We are committed to the current and future growth of businesses in Coppell. From workforce development to our Coppell Community Development Foundation which funds local education initiatives; from how to operate a business to diversity, equity and inclusion, the Chamber knows that the future of our workforce impacts our economy and economic development of tomorrow. Our members support our schools and continue to graciously donate and share their time and expertise with our students because they recognize them as our future business leaders and professionals.

Speaking of future leadership, in 2022 we adopted the Leadership Coppell program from the City. Participants learn about the inner workings of our community and the symbiotic relationships of industry for a 360-degree view of Coppell’s economy. The Class of 2023-2024 is off and running this month.

Coppell is an excellent place to do business and a caring community in which to live with programs and learning opportunities for everyone. I want to encourage you to become active in the Coppell Chamber and the community.  Please look at our calendar and this website for opportunities where you can help make a difference. Volunteer in Chamber activities or on a committee and support our member companies with your business. Local purchases help build our businesses. Together we can become better than ever.

We’re here because of you and thank you for allowing us to do what you hired us to do.

Sincerely,

Ellie Braxton, Coppell Chamber CEO/President
